The electric fence is under construction--functional, but not finished. I have a single strand (deer height) around my 'close to the house' beds. Insulators in place to add a lower strand, but I need to do some trimming and cleaning first. I plan to do the same (2 strands) around some beds I have further out in the yard as soon as time permits. I feel safe and secure and really think it will do the trick.

This pathetic little sprig, somewhat like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, is determined to survive after being eaten to the ground multiple times. Maybe all hope is not lost. This one is 'Sweet White Japanese'. I love them--smooth, and creamy and sweet. Never any fibers.

This bee seemed deliriously happy rolling around in the flower. I guess bees love sweet potatoes, too.
