I'm excited! We've come through the worst of our winter weather and temperatures are moderating (as much as one can hope for in Oklahoma). We'll still have freezing temps for a while, mostly at night, but the last couple of days we've been in the 60s with sunshine during the day. My new greenhouse really warms up in this weather.
I'm keeping track of highs and lows, and, I'm running a small heater in there at night. Without the heater, temperatures in the greenhouse would match that of the outdoors, by morning, which is far too cold for sweet potatoes, even storage for sweet potatoes. With the heater, I believe the greenhouse is already superior to my previous accommodations for starting slips.
Here's what it looks like this afternoon. Yesterday I started Red Wine Velvet (RWV), Becca's Purple, Gunlock and Brinkley White. Today I started Oklahoma Red. I may start one more variety today, we'll see how chore time goes.
In the bottom photo you can see some individual pots with Irish potato seedlings, which I started from seed (real seed, derived from seed pods). There's also a tray with seeds of Roselle and two varieties of tomatoes. My wife purchased a tray of greens, which I need to get into the garden. In there, there are also two trays of Becca's Purple sweet potatoes, getting ready to sprout.
