Just thought I'd add a tip here. Many of us order slips from other sources. I've been blessed in that some folks I've gotten slips from seem lavish in what they send. I'd be happy with a few, just to get started and get to know the variety. They send me a giant wad of slips, and, I think "Where am I going to put them all?!" But I find a way.
Another phenomenon with slip orders is that many times there are a number of really small, not so attractive stems in with the slips. One is often tempted to just discard them, as they are so small and appear so insignificant, compared with the larger ones. Don't! They include those little stems because they know that they will generally root and grow just as well as a larger slip. Within a few weeks it will be difficult to impossible to tell the "puny" slip from the vigorous one. They'll both be growing well.
So, if you order slips and get some "puny" ones, don't ignore them. Plant them!
