Slade Farms is another source for sweet potato slips. Being in the South, Clif Slade sells his slips for a much longer period of time than do most who live in the North (or in Oklahoma, however one wants to view Oklahoma's regional identity). I was talking with Clif just the other day and he told me that he'll be selling slips for a while. I commented to him, that here in Oklahoma, though one can generally plant slips up until the middle of July, I am shutting down sales. Oklahomans don't think one can plant any later.
Anyway, Clif is a great fellow. He admits that he doesn't generally carry many of the really old varieties, like I do, but he has good varieties and a pretty good selection at that. He does a fair amount of volume too, providing slips for Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, beside selling on his own.
Slade Farms (Clif Slade) does what the best of sweet potato growers (in my opinion) do. He is willing to help recapture lost varieties. He knows sweet potatoes and their culture very well.
