Here's an article out of LSU about the guava root-knot nematode, a recent introduction into our country. Apparently it has only been proven to have arrived in North Carolina and Florida, but if it's there, watch out! I might get spread anywhere in the USA.
Remember, when you start your own, it's best practice to cut your "slips" above the soil line, instead of "pulling them" as is traditional. "Cuts" are better for avoiding the transmission of pests and disease. See: Cuts vs. Slips.
